40KA 2P DC Surge Protector 1000V

Built for longevity and safety, this 2-pole DC surge protective device features a flame-retardant PC enclosure and tightly controlled internal electronics to resist corrosion, thermal stress, and mechanical wear. It operates at a rated voltage (Un) of 1000VDC and sustains up to 1060VDC continuously (Uc), supporting high-efficiency solar generation and modern DC-coupled storage. Tested to deliver 20kA nominal (In) and 40kA peak (Imax) surge handling under standard 8/20μs impulse, it maintains a voltage protection level (Up) of ≤3.2kV—keeping protected equipment within safe insulation margins. A field-serviceable visual indicator shows green for active protection and red upon end-of-life detection. Mounting uses universal 35mm DIN rail—fully compatible with UK-standard distribution boards and modular switchgear. It addresses real-world failure vectors: induced surges from nearby lightning, DC arc flash events in undersized cabling, and voltage swell during battery inverter restart sequences—especially relevant in hybrid home energy systems. Commonly deployed in Scotland and Northern Ireland where storm frequency and longer cable runs increase surge exposure, and increasingly specified by MCS-certified installers for warranty-compliant PV protection packages.
