5-Inch Circular Force Sensitive Resistor

This FSR402 model features a precisely defined 5-inch diameter circular sensing area, delivering responsive resistance changes under compressive loading from 0 g up to 10 kg. As a passive, analog resistive sensor, it requires no power supply and outputs only a resistance value that varies inversely with applied force. Built using a layered plastic-and-metal construction, it combines mechanical resilience with minimal footprint and weight. Its durability is rated at 10 million actuations, making it suitable for long-duration deployments in semi-permanent installations. Commonly deployed in robotics (e.g., ground-contact sensing during walking), bio-experimental setups (e.g., recording jaw clenching in rodents), and interactive device prototyping — always where functional feedback matters more than traceable metrology.
