500V Double Can Amplifier Electrolytic Cap

This double-can electrolytic capacitor is built for high-fidelity and professional audio amplifier power supply circuits. Capacitance options include 100+100μF, 50+50μF, and 32+32μF, all rated at 500V DC. It features traditional wet electrolyte construction and aluminium electrode assembly. Slight dimensional variation (±1–3 mm) may occur due to manual measurement. Electrolytic capacitors degrade slowly when left unpowered; after 2–3 months of storage, the anodic oxide layer weakens, increasing leakage and heat if energised directly at rated voltage. To restore performance, apply a controlled reforming sequence: hold at 50V for 10–15 min, then increase voltage by 20V every 4–5 min until reaching 500V. A 100kΩ 5W current-limiting resistor must be used in series during this process. Normalised leakage current under rated conditions measures 0.025–0.05 mA per microfarad at room temperature.
