The fabric is tightly woven yet breathable, offering gentle tension to support dough structure without restricting expansion. Weight per pad is approximately 25–30 g — light enough for easy handling, substantial enough to stay in place during overnight proofing. Compatible with willow, cane, and plastic bannetons commonly sold in UK supermarkets and specialist bakeware stores. Also used successfully for covering fermenting jars, lining salad servers, and protecting delicate cultured foods. Tolerances of ±1–3 cm apply due to manual cutting and finishing; colour may vary slightly between batches depending on natural fibre lot and ambient light — neither affects performance nor food safety.
