Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder
What is Activated Charcoal?
Activated charcoal can be produced from any source of carbon, including; coconut husks, bamboo, and wood. Ours issourcedfrom coconut, a much preferred method of production. Coconut charcoal is heated at extreme temperatures in the presence of gases such as argon or nitrogen. This process then causes the charcoal to expand significantly, vastly increasing the surface area.
It is this large surface area, alongside its ability to bind to chemicals and toxins, that make carbon so useful in its health benefits. It can bind to unwanted heavy metals, pesticides and gases in the digestive tract. This effectively neutralises them and allows them to pass through the body with ease.
Similarly activated charcoal is also used to whiten teeth due to these similar properties.
Lowerscholesterol levels in the body by eliminating them through the intestinal tract Reduces the absorption of toxic chemicals, including alcohol. Relieves gas and bloating in the digestive tract. Removesstains and pigments when applied to your teeth, helping the teeth whitening process.
When supplementingactivated charcoal, approximately 4-10 g per day is required. Thisis usually mixed with water or juice to hide the chalky texture of the charcoal. It's important to also make sure that adequate water is consumed (2 litres/day) when supplementing activated charcoal.
For teeth whitening effects, apply a small amount of activated charcoal to the surface of a toothbrush and gently brush the teeth for 2-4 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
