The BME680 is a digital 4-in-1 environmental sensor that measures gas, humidity, pressure, and temperature using proven sensing principles. It features an I²C interface, an onboard voltage regulator, and level-shifting circuitry for compatibility with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. An SPI interface is also available for expansion. Typical applications include indoor air quality monitoring, home automation and control, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, weather stations, GPS enhancement (e.g., time-to-first-fix improvement, dead reckoning, slope detection), indoor navigation (e.g., floor change detection, elevator detection), outdoor navigation, leisure and sports applications, and vertical velocity indication (rise/sink speed).
