A specialist peeling tool developed for botanical materials with high tensile fibre content. Core components: 8 cm high carbon steel blade; 18 cm solid hardwood handle (2.5 cm diameter); total mass 95 g. Blade is removable without tools via integrated tension collar. Steel grade selected for balance of hardness (for edge retention) and workability (for user-led resharpening). Handle wood is air-dried, knot-free hardwood—sanded smooth but left unsealed to maintain natural grip texture. Validated for sugar cane (rind removal), pineapple (eye excision + skin stripping), celery (string debulking), and pumpkin (outer cuticle removal).
