High-Cycle Force Sensitive Resistor

The FSR402 is a high-cycle-count resistive thin-film sensor engineered for longevity and physical adaptability. Its 5-inch circular sensing region detects compressive forces between 0 g and 10 kg, translating them into measurable resistance shifts. The sensor’s construction — combining plastic substrate and metallic contacts — ensures dimensional stability and resistance to environmental wear during repeated deformation. With a service life rated at 10 million actuations, it meets the demands of iterative testing, classroom experimentation, and early-stage product validation. It has been applied across disciplines: as ground contact sensors in walking robots, grip-status indicators in robotic arms, and bite-force triggers in controlled mammalian behavioural assays — always selected for its balance of simplicity, scalability, and mechanical resilience rather than absolute measurement accuracy.
