Open-Source CAN 2.0 USB Analyzer

The MKS CAN V2.0 is an open-source, USB-C-connected CAN 2.0 protocol analyzer and controller board tailored for engineers working on automotive diagnostics, ECU development and embedded CAN network monitoring. Its dimensions are approx. 60 × 30 × 15 mm, housed in durable ABS plastic. It implements full CAN 2.0A/B support with baud rate configuration from 10 kbps to 1 Mbps. The core processor is the STM32G431C8T6 ARM Cortex-M4 running at 170 MHz, delivering low-latency frame processing. Termination resistance (120 Ω) is switchable via physical jumper. Firmware options include candleLight (for direct Linux socketCAN use) and slcan (for Windows/macOS/Linux serial emulation). Verified compatibility across ARM platforms such as Raspberry Pi, ODROID, BeagleBone and Zero. Supplied with USB-C cable, 3-pin CAN cable and the V2.0 analyzer board. All supporting materials — schematics, firmware images, source code and host software — are publicly accessible and well-documented.
