The float switch is mounted on the side of the reservoir and consists of a plastic boot with a metal float inside. The float moves up and down with the water level, activating or deactivating the switch as needed. When the water level drops below a certain point, the switch will activate and signal for more water to be added to the reservoir. This helps ensure that there is always enough water in the machine to make ice. Easy to Install - To replace the float switch in an ice machine, first, turn off the power and remove the front panel. Locate the existing float switch and disconnect its wires before removing it from the mounting bracket. Install the new float switch securely on the bracket and connect the wires to their respective terminals, ensuring they are firmly attached.
