Robust Cylindrical Assembly Retaining Adhesive

638 is a green-coloured, high-strength anaerobic retaining compound developed for permanent fixation of cylindrical mechanical components. Supplied in a 50 ml container, it exhibits a viscosity of 500 mPa·s and density of 1.25 g/cm³. It is formulated to cure rapidly when confined in the absence of air between tight-fitting metal surfaces — particularly effective for bond gaps up to 0.38 mm. Works equally well on active metals (e.g., carbon steel) and passive substrates like stainless steel, with proven resistance to industrial oils and minor surface contamination. Its service temperature range spans -50°C to +100°C, supporting year-round use in varied UK environmental and operational conditions. Typical applications include bearing mounts, gear hubs, flanged connections and rotating shaft assemblies in manufacturing, agriculture and vehicle maintenance.
