Slotted Stainless Thread Repair Insert

A set of 10 thread repair nuts machined from 303 stainless steel. Each unit has a length of approx. 12 mm (0.5 in), with internal M8 × 1.25 mm threading and external M12 × 1.75 mm threading. The presence of a fine longitudinal slot enables elastic deformation during installation, enhancing ease of fit and minimising stress on the host material. These inserts serve two primary purposes: converting between male/female thread configurations and reducing thread diameter — for example, enabling reuse of an M8 screw in a previously damaged M8 hole via intermediate M10 enlargement and final M8 restoration. Applications span aviation maintenance, car engine rebuilding, telecom infrastructure, computer chassis fabrication, die & mould servicing, and general industrial equipment upkeep.
