Stable Mushroom Sisal Scratching Post

Built using high-density board and tightly wound natural sisal rope, this compact cat scratcher measures 28 cm in total height with a 16 cm mushroom cap and 18 cm stem. Its 18 cm circular base ensures firm anchorage on hard floors or low-pile carpets, eliminating instability issues common in taller, narrower posts. The entire unit is free from glue-heavy laminates or painted finishes — relying purely on mechanical winding and compression fit for longevity. The sisal layer is applied in continuous, overlapping strands to maximise surface area and minimise fraying at stress points. This method supports sustained claw engagement without premature shedding or loose ends that could pose ingestion risks. Its mushroom shape functions beyond decoration: the cap acts as a visual cue and tactile anchor point, drawing cats toward the post through curiosity and familiarity — supporting early habit formation in kittens and retraining in older cats with established furniture-scratching patterns.
